Two years ago and now.
Two years ago I was just over half way through pregnancy number 2.
Both of my pregnancies and births were pretty easy for which I am VERY grateful for BUT it was the few weeks after my first pregnancy that completely changed my outlook on all things health.
I was a new mom, completely overwhelmed, crying all the time, and I didn’t know what to do. I was eating chocolate by the box full and sleeping horribly (well duh, I had a newborn), to say that life had thrown me a curve ball would be an understatement. It took me over 6 months to get out of this haze and the way I did it? I started taking care of myself!
When my baby was 18 months old I got pregnant again and though I didn’t have a very “fit” pregnancy, I knew that after my second child was born, that fitness was going to have to be a huge part of my life. I was not going to be in that haze again, ever.
I began slowly getting back into fitness when my second baby girl was about 6 weeks old, that was back in March of 2015, and I haven’t looked back since.
My journey has been anything but perfect but I have learned A LOT and I even decided to become a personal trainer because I want to share my passion of fitness with others.
My advice to new moms who feel lost with no idea where to start: start slow, and start small, don’t overwhelm yourself. Eventually, little by little, you will see change.
