This combination has led us to feel kind of stuck. Yeah, we know we should be more active, yeah, we know we should get back to our pre-holiday eat habits but “eh, I don’t wanna,” seems to be the response going through many of our heads.
“Maybe if I can just somehow become a little motivated to do something,” we think, “then I can just get back to normal,”.
Here’s the thing, what is going to motivate you to get out of that comfortable spot where you are eating what you want and not putting in a bunch of effort to exercise because you “just don’t want to”. I mean, really, this kind of sounds like the most comfortable spot to be in, am I right? Who wants to leave comfort? Not anyone I know.
The problem is, that change does not happen when we are comfortable. All the goals we have for ourselves are not going to be attainable if we stay comfortable.
How do we get uncomfortable then, when we have just warmed up under that nice cozy blanket of our comfort zone?
You have to act. Yep, that’s it. You have to act. Action leads to motivation. Action inspires you to do more. Action is where the magic really happens.
Whether that means getting to the gym for the first time in a week/month/year, making a healthy meal for your family, or finally deciding to ditch the soda for water, you need to act.
Make the last 5 weeks of the year yours. Don’t let the holiday slump set in and take over.
